Job Duties

• Assess patients of all ages using both standardized evaluations and observational methods to gain a comprehensive understanding of their needs.
• Craft individualized treatment strategies that target both short-term goals and long-lasting communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges.
• Implement tailored speech therapy sessions focused on enhancing language, fluency, voice, and swallowing capabilities.
• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, family members, and caregivers to formulate cohesive treatment plans.
• Provide education and resources for patients and families to encourage progress outside of the clinic.
• Support inpatient therapy evaluations and interventions as needed, ensuring seamless continuity of care throughout a patient's journey.
• Keep up-to-date records in accordance with state, federal, and institutional guidelines.
• Engage in continuous professional development and collaboration with colleagues to stay at the forefront of the field.

Education Requirements

• A Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
• Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), if applicable for ASHA certification.

Certification Requirements

• Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
• Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) issued by ASHA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be acquired within 30 days of starting.
