Description

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients from pediatric to geriatric populations utilizing both standardized assessments and observational techniques to best gauge their needs.
  • Create individualized treatment plans designed to meet both short-term and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
  • Implement targeted speech therapy interventions focused on enhancing communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing skills.
  • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members to ensure a cohesive care approach.
  • Provide valuable education and resources to patients and their families to facilitate progress outside of clinical settings.
  • Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and therapies, guaranteeing seamless continuity of care throughout the patient's rehabilitative journey.
  • Uphold meticulous and timely documentation practices in alignment with state, federal, and organizational standards.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development by staying informed about advancements in the field through continuing education and peer networking.

Education

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not currently ASHA-certified.

Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required to be completed within 30 days of employment.
