Join a dedicated healthcare team as an Advanced Respiratory Care Assistant, providing essential support in respiratory care services within a vibrant regional healthcare setting in the Southeastern United States. This role involves maintaining adequate supplies, medications, and medical gas tanks, as well as managing the collection and processing of used equipment.
Responsibilities include administering medications via nebulizer and assisting with intermittent non-invasive patient care. This position does not involve critical care or managing unstable patients.
EducationCandidates must be enrolled students in good standing at an AMA-approved Respiratory Care Program affiliated with a recognized healthcare institution. Verification of good standing and successful completion of a competency evaluation in respiratory care procedures, as defined by the regional Respiratory Care Board, is required.
Experience and Requirements- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Registration as a Respiratory Care Assistant (RCA) with the regional Respiratory Care Board.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations while interacting with patients, co-workers, and visitors.
- Strong oral communication skills, manual dexterity for equipment operation and assembly, good visual acuity, and physical stamina to stand or walk for extended periods.
- Capability to position and move patients and transport heavy equipment to patient bedsides.
- Willingness to work in an environment that may involve exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials.
