Join a dedicated healthcare team in the Southeastern United States region as an Assistant Respiratory Care Technician. This part-time role supports respiratory care services by maintaining adequate supplies, medications, and medical gas tanks. You will be responsible for collecting and processing used equipment and administering medications via nebulizer, along with providing intermittent non-invasive patient care. This position does not involve critical care or managing unstable patients.
EducationApplicants must be enrolled students in good standing at an AMA-approved Respiratory Care Program. The educational institution must verify successful completion of a competency evaluation certifying proficiency in respiratory care procedures as defined by the regional Respiratory Care Board.
Experience and Requirements- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Registration as a Respiratory Care Assistant (RCA) with the regional Respiratory Care Board.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations while interacting with patients, coworkers, and visitors.
- Strong oral communication skills, manual dexterity for equipment operation and assembly, and visual acuity.
- Physical stamina to stand or walk for extended periods, move and position patients, and transport heavy equipment.
- Willingness to work in an environment with potential exposure to blood and other infectious materials.
