Description

  • Conduct evaluations across a spectrum of age groupspediatrics, adults, and seniorsusing a mix of validated assessments and observational strategies.
  • Create tailored treatment plans targeting immediate goals as well as ongoing communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges.
  • Deliver focused one-on-one speech therapy sessions that improve language, fluency, voice, and swallowing capabilities.
  • Work in synergy with other professionals including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to orchestrate a unified approach to patient care.
  • Educate patients and their families to support progress beyond therapy sessions.
  • Occasionally assist with inpatient evaluations and treatments to ensure a consistent care experience during the recovery journey.
  • Keep comprehensive and timely documentation in line with state, federal, and agency guidelines.
  • Commit to ongoing education and peer collaboration to stay at the forefront of the field.

Education

  • A Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • A completed supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required if not yet ASHA-certified.

Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification needed within 30 days of hire.
