Physical therapists play a vital role in supporting patients of all ages facing mobility limitations due to medical conditions or injuries. This contract opportunity offers a dynamic position within a hospital environment, focusing on outpatient therapy services. You will assess, design, and implement individualized care plans that facilitate improved mobility, pain reduction, and restored functional activity, while also focusing on injury prevention and patient education.
Schedule:
- Monday through Thursday: 8:00 am 5:00 pm
- Friday: 8:00 am 12:30 pm
- Occasional weekend coverage for acute care evaluations (every 5 weeks)
Qualifications:
- Active South Carolina PT license (required and must be submitted with your resume)
- Minimum of 2 years of recent PT experience; hospital-based experience strongly preferred
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (must be submitted with your application)
- Experience supervising physical therapy assistants and aides
- Strong patient assessment, documentation, and communication skills
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients and develop evidence-based treatment plans tailored to individual needs and prescribed medical requirements
- Deliver hands-on therapy to facilitate recovery, restore function, and encourage prevention of disability
- Educate patients on injury prevention strategies, rehabilitation, and wellness-oriented programs
- Supervise and mentor assistants and aides involved with therapy implementation
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
