Description

• Conduct thorough assessments for pediatric, adult, and geriatric clients utilizing both standardized tests and observational techniques.
• Craft tailored treatment plans that consider immediate goals and the long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs of each patient.
• Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions focusing on all facets of communication, including language, fluency, voice, and swallowing challenges.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, physicians, nursing staff, families, and caregivers to enhance patient outcomes.
• Provide educational resources for patients and families, empowering them to support progress beyond therapy sessions.
• Engage in occasional inpatient evaluations and speech interventions to ensure seamless care continuity.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation practices in compliance with health regulations and organizational policies.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements and strategies in speech-language pathology through continuous education and colleague engagement.

Education

• A Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required if not yet ASHA-certified.

Certifications

• Current state licensure as a Speech Language Therapist is mandatory.
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) is highly desirable.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be acquired within the first month of employment.
