Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct evaluations for a diverse array of patients spanning pediatric to adult and geriatric populations, utilizing both standardized tools and observational assessments.
  • Create customized treatment plans that cater to immediate goals and long-term communication and swallowing needs.
  • Deliver individualized speech therapy targeted at improving communication, linguistic skills, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing functions.
  • Work hand in hand with a multidisciplinary team including nurses, physicians, caregivers, and other therapists to ensure integrated care strategies.
  • Provide education to patients and their families to support advancement beyond clinical settings.
  • Assist in conducting inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring continuous care throughout the treatment process.
  • Document all services and progress accurately and promptly, in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Engage in continuing education and professional collaboration to remain informed on the latest advancements in the field.

Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is still pending.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of starting the position.
