Description

  • Perform thorough evaluations on patients spanning pediatric to geriatric demographics using both standardized tests and observational techniques.
  • Craft individualized treatment plans aimed at meeting both immediate goals and long-term communication or swallowing objectives.
  • Deliver focused, one-on-one speech therapy interventions that hone in on communication skills, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing techniques.
  • Work in tandem with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to implement cohesive care strategies.
  • Educate patients and their families to cultivate progress beyond the clinical setting.
  • Engage in occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions to promote a seamless therapeutic journey.
  • Keep comprehensive and timely documentation that adheres to state, federal, and organizational standards.
  • Commit to continuous education and engagement with peers to stay knowledgeable about innovations in the field.

Education

  • Earned a Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification has not yet been obtained.

Certifications

  • Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
