Join a team delivering critical speech and language services virtually to students in Detroit, Michigan. This remote Speech Language Pathologist role offers flexibility and the chance to impact learners across a wide grade span, all while working from a home-based setting.
Position DetailsWeekly Commitment: 35 to 37.5 hours, school calendar based
Grade Levels: K through 12, with a focus on early childhood to middle school students
Caseload Size: Approximately 45-60 students receiving teletherapy support
Virtual Therapy Model: Conduct sessions via secure video conferencing platforms, with ongoing digital documentation
Common Service Areas:
Articulation and phonological processing
Language delays and disorders
Fluency and voice disorders
AAC devices and communication support
Social communication and pragmatic language
Conduct virtual evaluations and develop IEP-compliant therapy plans
Deliver engaging, individualized teletherapy sessions using best practices
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate electronic records
Communicate regularly with families and educational teams for continuity of care
Collaborate virtually with interdisciplinary teams
Maintain adherence to Michigan licensure requirements and ASHA ethical guidelines
Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in Michigan
ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) required
Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology
At least 2 years of experience providing school-based speech services
Experience with teletherapy and ability to manage virtual caseloads effectively
