Description
- Assess patients through standardized evaluations and observational methods across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics.
- Create customized treatment plans addressing immediate needs and fostering long-term communication, cognitive, and swallowing skills.
- Conduct personalized speech therapy sessions emphasizing communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and physicians to forge comprehensive care approaches.
- Educate patients and their families on progress strategies to enhance therapy outcomes.
- Occasionally carry out inpatient evaluations and provide interventions to ensure seamless care throughout the therapeutic process.
- Maintain accurate records that comply with all applicable guidelines and regulations.
- Engage in continual professional development, staying informed on the latest advancements in speech-language pathology.
Education
- A Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), if not currently ASHA-certified.
Certifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days after starting.
