Description

  • Conduct assessments on patients of all ages utilizing recognized evaluation methods and observational techniques.
  • Create customized treatment plans that cater to immediate needs and future communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
  • Deliver individual speech therapy sessions emphasizing communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing abilities.
  • Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and family members to ensure holistic care strategies.
  • Provide educational resources to patients and their families to foster progress beyond the clinical environment.
  • Engage in occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions for speech therapy, ensuring seamless continuity of care.
  • Document patient progress meticulously to meet state, federal, and organization standards.
  • Stay abreast of field advancements through continuous education and collaborative learning with peers.

Education

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA certified.

Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
